How color blindness simulation works
Load an image and apply recognized color vision deficiency matrices to preview approximate protanopia, deuteranopia, tritanopia, anomaly, or achromatopsia views.
Approximate simulation
The tool applies RGB transformation matrices commonly used for design review. It helps catch visual issues, but it cannot perfectly reproduce any individual person's perception.
Different from contrast
Contrast checking measures text/background readability ratios. This simulator transforms an entire image to preview color distinguishability under different deficiency modes.
Common uses
- Review charts, maps, and product screenshots.
- Check whether color-only distinctions still make sense.
- Export an approximate simulated image for design review.
Processing notes
Images are decoded, transformed, and exported locally in your browser.
Preguntas frecuentes
Is this a medical simulation?
No. It is an approximate design aid, not a clinical or personal vision model.
Does this replace contrast checking?
No. Use it alongside a contrast checker because they answer different accessibility questions.
Can I download the simulated image?
Yes, the current simulation can be exported as a PNG generated in your browser.
