Use this calculator to estimate the concrete volume of slabs, beams, walls, columns (rectangular or round), and footings, add several pieces to the same project, and see how many pre-mixed bags to buy — in cubic meters, liters, or cubic yards.

How volume is calculated for each shape

The tool uses a different formula per element type. Depth on slabs, walls, and footings is entered in centimeters (or inches in imperial mode), while length, width, and height are in meters (or feet) — a small 10 or 15 cm depth is awkward to type in meters, but length and height are usually already in that unit. Switching between metric and imperial automatically converts the values you've already typed, without losing the piece you were calculating.

Quantity, project totals, and bagged concrete

The quantity field multiplies a single piece's volume before waste is applied, for cases like 4 identical footings or 6 matching columns. Once you've calculated a piece, you can add it to a project to combine different slabs, beams, columns, and footings into one purchase total — each piece is added to the project using the values it had at the moment you added it, so changing the fields afterward doesn't change what's already in the list. The bagged-concrete block is optional: skip it if you're not buying bags (ready-mix delivery, for example); if you are, enter the liter yield printed on the product and choose whether the calculation applies to the current piece or the whole project.

Before you pour

  • Compact and level the subgrade — an uneven base is a much more common source of problems than a slightly off volume estimate.
  • Check the weather: extreme heat, cold, or rain around the pour affects both working time and cure quality.
  • Confirm the bag's actual liter yield on its label — it's usually printed per bag, and brands do differ.

When to bring in a professional

Why enter depth in centimeters but length and height in meters?

Small slab or wall depths (10–20 cm) are easier to measure and type in centimeters (or inches in imperial mode), while length, width, and height are usually already in meters (or feet).

Does switching from metric to imperial reset everything?

No — the values you've already typed for each of the six shapes are converted to the new unit automatically, so you don't lose what you filled in when you toggle.

What does adding a piece to the project do?

It adds the current piece's volume (already multiplied by quantity and waste) to a running list, so you can combine different slabs, beams, columns, and footings into the purchase total for an entire pour.

Do I have to fill in the bag yield?

No — the bag calculation is optional. Without a liter yield for the product you're using, the tool still shows the volume in cubic meters, liters, and cubic yards.
