Animated GIF Compressor
Compress animated GIF files with real palette, frame-rate, and dimension optimization, three compression levels, loop control, comparison, and download.
Options
Stronger compression uses fewer colors and fewer frames per second.
Smaller dimensions usually produce the largest size reduction. Small GIFs are never enlarged.

What is Animated GIF Compressor?
Compress animated GIF files online with light, balanced, or strong optimization, optional resizing, loop control, before-and-after previews, and detailed size results.
How to compress an animated GIF
Reduce an animated GIF by optimizing its color palette, frame rate, and dimensions while preserving animation and transparency.
What each compression level changes
Light keeps up to 256 colors and a high frame rate. Balanced limits the palette to 128 colors and caps very fast animations at 20 frames per second. Strong uses up to 64 colors and 12 frames per second for the smallest practical result.
Why resizing helps so much
Every GIF frame stores pixels, so reducing a 1200-pixel animation to 480 pixels cuts work across the entire sequence. The tool preserves aspect ratio and never enlarges a GIF that is already below the selected width.
How to use it
- Upload an animated GIF up to 20 MB and two minutes.
- Choose a compression level and maximum width.
- Choose whether the exported GIF should loop forever.
- Compress, compare both animations, and download the result.
Processed temporarily on our server
The GIF is sent to a ProntoUso server for FFmpeg palette and frame optimization. Temporary processing data is deleted when the request finishes, and neither version is stored or logged.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the GIF remain animated?
Yes. The output remains an animated GIF; only its palette, frame rate, dimensions, and loop setting may change.
Does it preserve transparency?
Yes. The optimized palette and GIF encoder preserve transparent areas supported by the source animation.
Why did my GIF become larger?
A GIF that is already highly optimized may not shrink under a light profile. Try Balanced or Strong, or reduce the maximum width.
