Choosing MP3 quality
Bitrate controls how much audio data is kept each second. 128 kbps creates a smaller file for speech, 192 kbps is balanced for everyday listening, and 256 or 320 kbps preserves more music detail at a larger size.
Stereo, mono, and trimming
Stereo keeps left and right channels for music. Mono combines them into one channel and is usually enough for lectures, interviews, and voice recordings. Enable trimming to enter start and end times in seconds when you need only one section.

The video is sent to a ProntoUso server because extracting and encoding MP3 audio needs FFmpeg. Temporary files exist only during that request and are deleted automatically; the video and MP3 are never stored or logged.

No. MP3 is audio-only, so the video track is removed and only its audio is converted.
Which bitrate should I choose?
Use 128 kbps for speech and small files, 192 kbps for a practical default, or 256 to 320 kbps when music quality matters more than size.
Can I extract only part of a video?
Yes. Enable the time-range option and enter start and end times in seconds. Leaving the end empty converts from the start time through the end of the video.
